I still havent heard an official fall back(valve has been tightlipped), so I'm still looking at september 30th. I have a feeling it may be closer to Christmas, but i got faith in Vavle.
No a while back at Clanimo when I was an advit news reporter for the site, I saw an article on the new release date. If I remember it is the same week Call of Duty comes out. I'll look that up later to make sure. But it is November if I remember....Halo is Sept. 30th

That wont happen. Why? It is not logical. Not everyone will have 100 bucks to shuck out for both games, which means they can only choose one. So some people that might buy HL2 wont because they want D3 more. If vavle releases before D3, even D3 fanatics will buy it to give them something to pass the time with.
November. They are beta-testing the new Steam network in HL/CS/TFC right now, replacing WON and the ID's we used to have. They want more control on updates and patches for registered users, removing the manual download process. It's interesting they mention a "billing feature". If they go subscriber-based like Evercrack I'm outta here.
