Get rid of dual boot menu

I installed windows 2000 temporarily while I did some testing.

How do I get rid of the resulting dual OS boot menu please? 2000 no longer exists on there

thanks

just remove the windows 2000 entry from your boot.ini file

I'm assuming your left with XP since you didn't specify. In case you're not familiar with the boot.ini file, it is on your C: drive and hidden. You will need to get into folder options to allow hidden files to be seen. After you do that and are able to access the boot.ini file it should look like this when you are done editing it.

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(0)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(0)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

This assumes you are using WindowsXP, and it is installed on the first partition of your hard drive.

Im running windows ME
My boot.ini is as follows. I did fiddle with it a while ago, that resulted in me being unable to boot at all.
What do I delete in here please?
Why doesnt it mention ME in this file although it does appear in the boot menu?

[boot loader]
timeout=10
default=C:\
[operating systems]
C:\="Microsoft Windows"
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINNT="Microso ft Windows 2000 Server" /fastdetect

Send a message via Yahoo to muno
Because ME does not use boot.ini for system discovery.

When you installed w2k, it replaced ME bootblock with it's own.
You might be able to go back to previous bootmenu by typing 'fdisk /mbr' from dos. But this is only 'might'.
