No Keyboard
Gigabyte GA-7ZMMH installed in a HP Pavillion 6545c a year ago on 98SE.
Booted to 98 and failed with "No P/S2 mouse....!
Hit enter to clear error, no keyboard.Tried booting to Safe Mode, Floppy Startup, BIOS setup, etc., "No keyboard."
Removed CMOS Batt to clear, now can only get to:
CMOS changed
F1 to Setup
F2 to configure CMOS.
Now, I can't do anything since I "STILL HAVE NO KEYBOARD."
Changed keyboards, in correct ports.

If you are sure you are in the correct jack, then it's likely a blown fuse on the mobo.
Most mobo's have a fuse on the mouse and keyboard jacks, some are self resetting, others are a little green device that looks like a resister with no color bands. Some have no protection and the mobo will have to be returned for repair.
Try letting it sit for a little while with no power on, power up with a known good keyboard. If that works great.
If not then look for fuses near the jacks. Look for a silkscreen lable such as F1 or F2.
You can check the fuse if you have an ohm meter. If it is bad you can solder a new one on top of the old fuse. Generally a one amp fuse.

I'm in the right jacks.
I've just recently heard about those fuses. It's an older HP so I have to move the PSU etc.
Just wanted to let you know I'm looking and will repost

No fuse.
Being an "OLD" Telco CO technician, I was hoping to put the old iron to the board.
No such luck.
Afraid it's going to be a mobo change.
Concur?

Yes, does not sound good. It would be cheap to repair, likely a buffer chip, however it may not be worth the trouble.
Is it under warranty perhaps?
I have had to give up on one mobo myself because of that.

Thanks all for responding.
Had a slightly older Socket A mobo kicking around and installed it.
Works like a champ, now.
Thanks again,
Pete
