Proper use of wireless card for laptop

Hey, I was wondering what the proper use of wireless card for laptop, when inserting it or taking it out for transport? Also, anyone know if it's anywhere remotely possible to get some of the screen savers that are on macs and put them on a pc?? I love some of the screen savers I've seen on macs. Thanks

I use the Linksys wireless card on my daughter's laptop. She leaves it in, and it still fits well in her carrying case.

I leave mine in all the time, even when its in the case. if i go on the plane or long distance trips i take it out and place it into its case
