Help with a switch

I have a router in my media room with 8 ports and they are all being used. I decided I'm going to buy a 8 port switch for my room so I can have my gaming pc, server, possibly a game server, and a labtop. Right now my server is at 192.168.1.6 so I have to port forward 80 to it. Will putting it behind a switch mess it all up? Or should it still work without having to change anything unless the LAN Ip of the server changes when I move it?

I couldn't really make out what the exact question was, but I hope this helps. Routers can handle many computers. My router can handle up to 50 computers. So you could connect like 5 8-port switches to the router and then connect 8 computers to each of them 5 switches and it should work. The router has a DHCP server and assigns the IP to the computers.

I wasn't sure what the "it" behind a switch was.
