ok, i went to make a copy of a cd for my friend (legally, its a free download but we have a bandwidth limit here) but my roommates picture cd was in my burner. i accidently clicked start, but cancled it almost immediately. now, the only thing that is on the cd is the thing i was gonna burn on a new one... how could everything be erased if it wasnt a re-writable cd????? help!!!

What program did u use u sure the cd he made wasned a direct cd formated cd so u can just write to it even tho its a cdr, maybe u overwrote it.

other then that i cant think of any possibilities.

bring up the cd in windows explorer, eg my computer, rightclick on drive d or whatever drive your cd is in, select properties, select volumes, choose the first session or track or whatever then apply ok. now when you open the cd it should show you the original picture cd contents. if your writer complains, then try sticking it into a cdrom instead of a writer.
