My computer is slow, how do i get back up 2 speed?

512 MB of ram

I ran virus scan, uninstalled a couple of games, ran ad-aware, cleared my history, ran disk-scan, ran defrag, and did a couple of reboots. I have 87.21 GB free (78%), so memorry shouldn't be a problem. I also gave it a 6hr rest last night.

In my tray, i'm running advant (browser), aim, firewall, sound volume, norton anti-virus, and windowsblind. But i had them before so i don't think thats the problem.


The problem came after I was cheating in this browser rpg game. I had like 10 browsers each refreshing 4 websites in one second. And i left on overnight (6hrs). I also have kazaalite and downloaded a couple of thing during the day after that 6hrs. I know kazaa ain't good... so don't be saying its cause i have kazaa, terll me how to fix it.

Runescape? If you want to you could save all your important stuff on a disk and just wipe it out and reinstall.

ok Kazaa is loaded with spyware and things that lag systems down....try uninstalling it and running Adaware then see how it goes. be sure to update your adaware i also reccommend getting spybot search and destroy.

i heared kazaalite is spy ware-free, and spybot screws up the registry and has the same functions as adware. i'll check out free ram, thx for the info.

why are you going to try freeRAM then ?

I would recommend to defrag your hard drives, eliminate all spyware with two or more programs, eliminate temporary files, the usual stuff. What could have happen is if you have games installed, then that could be it since games that are big usually cause slowness in the operating sytem with time. Thats why I use one operating system only for games, and the other for everything else. I experienced slowness with games installed on the same Os as with a bunch of stuff, so I decided to install two.

i meant i would check it out... like if it did anything else to help me.

I just uninstalled another 2 games ArmyOps, and Tribes. I'll probbly uninstall photoshop cause that was the last thing i installed before i got all this slowness.
