Oh yeah, they're together. This morning when I called with a problem I got a message that they are having technical difficulties and to try again later.

Glad to hear its working better for you.

I've had RoadRunner for a couple years now, and really have no complaints at all. They have kept their word about improving their infrastructure so they wouldn't run out of bandwidth as more customers signed up. Each time I start to notice things slowing down a little, they apparently make some upgrades and the speed jumps right back up.

The only problem I had was back when they went to a "closed system" that would only allow you access if your modem was registered. Seems that the guy entered the wrong serial number for my modem when it was originally installed, so it stopped working as soon as they went to the closed system. Apparently, a bunch of people were having the same problem, so it took a while for them to get mine fixed. They did refund me for the time I was down - plus a free month of service for the trouble

I hate Road Runner. They can't keep anything up. Four months ago I was getting 2mbps (2.5mbits)...a month after that I was getting 1.5mbps (1.9mbits)....a month after that and to the present I'm lucky if I can even 1mbps(1.3mbits). What did I get when I just tested it? I only got .95mbps (1.294mbits). They try to cheat you out. I told the tech about this and he said you are fine if you are getting a speed between 600kpbs and 1.5mbps and he said that I was lucky that I was getting a speed higher than 1.5mbps.

Those changes in speed you're having could be the result of more and more subscribers being added, etc etc...and they (Time Warner) don't give you any guarantees in speed either. I've been using Road Runner off/on since 2000, and I'm just plain grateful that I'm going much faster than dialup of which I was using for many years.

You should be happy with what you got instead of complaining about these small (in my mind they are, compared to dialup) differences in speed. Now, if they drop to almost dialup speeds...then you have something to worry about.

BTW, I've gone through several other ISP's and so far Time Warner is doing the best job out of them all. You can't beat 24/7 tech support either.
