Hello everyone! (OuT, you better be paying attention!)
Ok, I've been trying to better my PS skillz, especially when it comes to touching up photos. A lot of times I find myself wanting to remove items from a photo without leaving any trace that they were ever there...I like clean work! However, I find myself frustrated when I try to figure out when to use the Clone Stamp and when to use the Healing Brush.
For example, in this picture I was trying to remove the wooden frame just to practice...however, I can't seem to cleanly remove it. With the clone stamp, it removes it all the way, but the lighting on the wall from the sampled area I cloned from is different than the lighting on the wall surrounding the wooden frame.
RESULT: obvious touchup work, the "missing piece" is easily seen by the light spot where the frame used to be.
When I use the healing brush, even at different hardness/spacing settings it just looks like I used the dang smudge tool.
Check it out:
See what I mean? This is probably easier than I think, but I want it to look clean...I won't settle for less.
So, would somebody show me the path the enlightenment here?
Thanks!
Mike
