Hopeless:
Welcome to TechIMO
Not sure if I followed your message correctly, but it sounds like you already uninstalled Windows 95 - Is that correct?? and if so, exactly how did you uninstall it??
If you uninstalled WIndows, you will no longer be able to boot your computer. What you need to do, (as Foggy suggested) is to make a WIN98 boot disk (floppy). Then you boot the computer using the boot disk, run fdisk and reformat the hard drive, then reinstall WIN95 from your installation CD.
On the other hand, if you have a name brand computer, you quite likely have a "restore CD" rather than a genuine WIN95 CD. In that case, you'll have to follow the manufacturer's instructions for restoring the system.
Give us more details regarding what type of computer you have and whether you have a regular WIN95 CD or a "restore" CD. Also, are you familiar with the fdisk and format commands, or do you need help with how to use those??

If you are installing the original windows 95 and choose to run FDISK from a 98 boot disk, be sure to choose 'No' when it asks if you want to enable large disk support. 95 can't see fat32 partitions |

HopelessinBama:
The CD you have is a OEM CD, quite probably OSR 2.0 or later. Windows 95 CDs are not bootable. Like some of the others said; you need a Windows 95 startup floppy, or another boot floppy (with CDRom support) to boot the system and then begin the setup program on the CD.

Sounds like you have an OEM Windows 95 disc.
As previously stated, the easiest thing for you to do is make a WIN98 boot floppy (you use the WIN98 version because it has the CDROM drivers already on it, that makes things easier)
Put the boot floppy in the floppy drive, and the WIN95 CD in the CDROM drive. Start the computer, and it will boot to an A: prompt. Run fdisk to delete, then reinstall the primary partition hard drive, then format the hard drive.
Once the hard drive is reformatted, switch to your CDROM drive and run setup. That will start the WIN95 installation routine.
Let us know if you need more specific instructions. You can also do a google search and find all kinds of information on installing WIN95, as well as using the fdisk and format commands, etc.
