Does it just completely ignore the F6 key and keep on trucking when you're installing XP? I think I understand your post just fine. I just want to make sure I understand the problem.

You're poll choices are completely whacked though..

Currently, I have my (1) 120GB HDw/NFTS system cleaned or quick formatted as a master on my standard Primary IDE1 and the (other) new unformatted 120GB HD drive as a slave. I have loaded my WinXp disc in my DVDROM and boot to that. As the startup proceeds there is a prompt " Press F6 if you need to install third party SCSI or RAID driver". I do just that even several times and the loading continues as I did nothing. I tried using another keyboard to no avail. Ther is a prompt for F2 which activates.

Now backing up the CMOS setup initially as you boot is found by Pressing "Delete" viewing the screens both drives are correctly recognized.

Continuing again during the loading of of my Xp disc there is another prompt to put a manufacturers disc to specify one or more mass storage devices by Pressing "S". It seems that it does not recognize them. If you Press "Enter" the XP will continue to load until you have to make a choice
1. install XP
2. Repair
3. Exit setup

My intent was to load the Promise RAID software, then shutdown, transfer the HD connectors for HD (1) to IDE3 and HD (Other) to IDE4 ONBoard Raid connectors, then reboot using "Fastrak" software to configure the array for RAID 0.

Well, I am not getting there!

Any help you can offer will be appreciated.

Also, trying to delete that stupid poll

It don't work thjat way. You need to take a formated floppy and
get the raid drivers from either the MOBO's cd or the MOBO's web sight. Both of the prospective HDD's should be equal. BOTH formated or BOTH wipped Virginal. You need to be quick on the trigger for the F6 prompt. Be sure the drivers on the floppy include
TXT setup.OEM. Hope this helps.

Pressing the F6 key doesn't give you an immediate response. It continues loading other drivers/stuff and it will eventually stop and ask you to put in the floppy with the Raid drivers.

Misc Success

I have completed the installation of my Raid application

Things that were important

1. The two WD120 GB drives must not have any jumpers.
2. The floppy disk I made was taken earlier from the M/B website and the non-relevant software deleted to get it all on .
3. Yes, F6 is delayed as I found out.
4. The partions and formatting to NTFS were performed using the Xp installation disk

Thanks all for the support.
