Help - Missing Network ICON

Help. My Network Neighborhood is missing. Anyone here know how do get the Network Neighborhood Icon back on the Desktop.
Also, Network Neighborhood is missing in the Windows Explorer.
The OS is Win98 with all updates.
I have reloaded windows and reinstalled all network protacols and have had no sucess in getting the NN Icon to reappear.

I can see all shares on this machine from other machines on the network, I just can't see other machines because there is no network neighborhood.

Thanks in advance for all responces.

no extra security settings right? no policy editor?

you may want to try and get something like tweakui or x-setup and see if you can turn it off, then back on again.

also what protocols do you have installed? and what is your logon type, been a while since i was on 98, i just remember if you didnt have something right there, it didnt show.

Start - settings - control panel - network - will let you see your Networking setup.

If worst comes to worst you can head to start -find - computer -and then type in the pc you want to find to get yourself out of a jam. You could also try 'Start - run - \\computername\sharename as a work around as well.

I know none of my suggestions will get your icon back - i'm just letting you know of your other options besides Network Neighborhood. I'm sure there are a few more ways than I've listed. (Like Mapped drives).
