Video Card Bad?

Is it possible for a video card to be bad and still somewhat work?

It will boot and run in windows, but it is 480x680 with 16 colors, and loading the drivers doesn't fix it.I have tried several sets of drivers, and a couple of different computers,no joy.It never shows the drivers are loaded.

So is this card infact dead?

Diamond Viper v330 PCI.

Have you loaded the standard VGA drivers and then installed the proper drivers?

I've never had anything like that happen except when I didn't have the drivers properly installed.
¿?

Have you tried the latest Riva 128 reference drivers from nVidia?

If the card outputs a 2D signal, then it should be working. It appears you have a driver problem. Could be device ID related, but I don't that is the case here.

What OS? The NT drivers should work for Win2K/XP as well.

Don't laugh.
Winderz ME.
And I did try the Riva drivers for ME,no luck.I found some old drivers for 9x,but they won't work in ME,I guess. I couldn't get anything out of it in 98SE either, same thing.
I did get it to work in XP,but the TV out didn't work(which is why I had it in there) so I pulled it out.
the Diamond drivers I found cause a big freezing problem at startup, because they are not ME drivers most likely.

The Nvidia drivers won't work at all in Device Manager. The Diamond drivers say the device is working properly, but I can't change any of the settings via Diamond tools,or in the desktop properties.

The V330 not only doesn't support simultaneous use of a computer monitor and television, but also requires that the computer monitor be disconnected before a television can be used.

Are you sure that a working driver isn't included with Windows ME?

After you install Windows Millennium Edition (Me), you may notice that your Diamond Viper V330 video adapter is detected as an Nvidia Riva 128.
