Kids Networking an old PC

Hi everyone

I'm going to be finally getting a hi-speed connection and will need to network the computers in my home. Since they are scattered about different areas I'm going to get a wireless router.

The problem I have is finding a router/NIC that will work with a very old IBM Aptiva computer (P100, 64mb RAM, 1 + 3 GB HD). This connection doesn't need to be fast, just work (even slow 56k speeds are ok). Any ideas?

If that is not possible I could just leave the router with that computer and use a physical connection. Any ideas on a regular NIC that would work?

Any suggestions/tips are appreciated. Security/Signal strength is preferred over price. Thanks for your help.

Any old nic will work in that comp. Nics arent like modems nowadays that need strong cpus to work right.

Lots of p100 era computers came with nics so it should be no problem putting a nic in the comp. I have some nics here that dont list any speed requirement as far as cpu is concerned.

And you could always get an old ISA nic.

Getting a wireless setup to work might be different...but probably wouldnt be impossible either.

Does the comp have usb??

There is surely some sort of wireless setup that will work.

Or as you say, you could put the router near that comp and just use wired on it.
