Windows XP will not boot

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my Dell Inspiron XPS 1500. I tried to install and extra 128mb of ram, making a total of 384, but when I did that , my computer only recognized 128mb and will not boot up windows saying that it's missing some ntfs file. I tried to reinstall windows, but setup won't fully load sayhing that it's missing another file.

Please help.

You did not need to reinstall.

Sounds like just a compatability issue w/ the RAM. You need to try swapping around the new stick w/ the old stick. If it still doesn't work, then the RAM you have isn't going to work w/ that system.

I couldn't reinstall cause windows setup won't fully load. i did take out the old ram and switch around using all possible combinations. so does anyone else have any solutions?
