Have you heard about the G5?
The new PowerPC G5 from Macintosh was currently released and I must say im impressed by its speed and power for what I have read and heard. The G5 has a 1-gigahertz frontside bus, almost twice as fast as competition today. It can support more than 200 in-flight instructions at a time, which means its 71% more than the currently 32-bit Pentium 4. Its the worlds first 64-bit processor for personal computers. The best about it is that it can address dramatically more memory, over 4 billion times more than a normal 32-bit chips, so that system built for the G5 will shatter the 4-gigabyte memory ceiling that limits every other PC on earth. It was developed by IBM and Macintosh. Its incredible how they are made: Its 12-inches silicon wafers are untouched by human hands as robots guide them through 500 processing steps, creating 58 million transistors and connecting them with over 1000 of copper wire that's less than 1/800th the width of a human hair! Just amazing how technology can make such a technical beauty. The Power Mac G5 is today the World's fastest personal computer ever made. Think about having this technology on your computer, using Windows, that would be just a hell of a computer, wouldnt it? Just wanted to share with you guys the news of our today technology a bit

G5s aren't anything for PC users to sneer at (MacOS on the other hand).
I'm waiting for my roommate to buy a G5 so I can have his G4.

I Know its nor for a PC user, but imagine having it to work with our computers. As for those that use Macintoch's they sure are happy with this release, although Im sure this processor must cost a fortune. Have luck with the G4 Whir

Uh oh... I feel the need...
Why is it propaganda? It's been pretty well proven that the G5 cooks just about every other personal computer processor. We've even got a link to some stuff here in the news section.
Are you anti-Mac, DPA? | |

"The _______ is today the World's fastest personal computer ever made."
I can prove such a statement for nearly any processor: G5, P4, Athlon, etc. You just need the right benchmarks.

Im not doin' propaganda I think, I am sending tech news, and facts, thats how I feel about it at least. I am definetely not a Mac fanatic, or a Windows fanatic, and not a Linux fanatic either, I like them all and think they all serve their purposes. As for it being the most powerful and fastest personal computer today is a fact. I am just trying to make other people see that technology is advancing so fast, its just scary, but amazing too. I remember 5 years ago I had an IBM aptiva, which was one of the most powerful and fastest desktops when I bought it and these were its specs:
-Windows 95
-110 Mhz Processor
-8 MB Ram
If you look at this today you will laugh a lot comparing to today's computers, but think about it, they were the best computers out there 5 years ago, isnt it amazing? I am sorry if you got the idea of propaganda thing here, which I think I am not trying to make, I am trying to give other people a chance to see and learn about the next generation of Power Mac's or so called G5's. Thanks for listening
