Sharing cable modem

Hi
I am getting a new PC very shortly and I want to be able to enable my old machine to share my broadband connection,
The main PC is a 2.6Ghz P4 with a standard ethernet card and 8 usb slots. running winxp
the other is a 500Mhz amd running win98
I am not interested in sharing printers/files etc all I want to do is allow both machines to share the broadband modem.
Is this done by a simple cross-over cable (after I have both machines configured)
I want to connect my modem to the USB port if possible
thanks
Roger...UK

You will need a router, or that is what I use. They run from about $60-$100. Just like a cable modem price range really. But that is what you need if I am correct.
