How do I remove AOL 8.0 that came pre-installed?

I could really use some advice. I just bought a Toshiba Laptop. It came preinstalled with AOL 8.0. I vannot uninstall AOL by using the add/remove. I've checked into it a little and it seems I am not the only one having this problem. Can anyone offer any advice?

When I do run the uninstall a message comes up saying "No installed version of America Online could be found on your computer."

Don't even bother, AOL is there, but inactive, or if you prefer : incompletely installed.

We received 2 preinstalled Toshiba laptops at work, they both had it, we just deleted the icon.

If you wanna remove it from 'Add/Remove Programs'

In the Registry, go to . . .

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Uninstall

Then look for AOL 8.0 or whatever it shows it as in 'Add/Remove Programs'. Delete it from the left-pane and it will disappear from 'Add/Remove Programs'.
