Outdoors HELP!! A Stupid idiot erased my C-Drive at work

My systems manager installed an anti-virus patch on my system (McAFee Virus Scan v4.5.1 SP1) while I was at lunch. I came back to find that everything was wiped clean from my system. They were able to remap my profiles to programs that were backed up on the server, but lost everything on my hard drive. Any suggestions as to how to retrieve this, or is this a lost hope?

Keep in mind that I am computer illiterate so be easy on me. And no, this wasn't backed up.

Baby

So they wipe your hard drive but they're too stupid to retrieve the data?

There are utilities for retrieving data from formatted or partitioned drives. Try a Google search.

Your systems manager is definitely an idiot.

I would beat that fool senseless. I would then talk to someone above you or above your systems manager and let them know about his screwup. I always password lock my box when I walk away.

Correct me if I am wrong but if the operating system has been reloaded he would have no chance of recovering the files.
