Windows version of The Gimp

My son came to me tonight inquiring about Photoshop. $565 at NewEgg . . . gasp! wheeze!

I remembered crouse and some other members over at www.usalug.org discussing a Windows version of a great Linux program called The Gimp. It's a very powerful graphics tool that I've just begun to learn and comes included in most if not all Linux distros. So, I headed over to www.gimp.org and found a link to the download site for the Windows version: http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/. I downloaded and installed it tonight. Very

The Gimp is covered by the same GNU public licence that covers Linux (free to download and free to distribute). If you need a powerful graphics tool and photo editor you might want to give The Gimp for Windows a look.

I'm just waiting for the GTK2 version of Gimp for Windows. I don't think they're going to release that though until 1.3 goes final though.
