Is my dsl slow?????

When I go on kazaa it only d/ls at 1 kb or below. So I tested it out at cnets bandwith site. It came out to be 214 kbps. Is there something wrong????? What should I do??

Yep, that's terribly slow to be honest! What is your advertised max bandwidth? How long have you had DSL?

214kbps/8 bits per byte= 26.75 max download speed in BYTES. OUCH! Only about 5x faster than dialup.

Try this test and see what you get:

Then run this tweak test, get your average ping and look on the left for recommendations.

I used bandwidth place's and got 1.1 MBS (1100 kps) on my DSL line.

214 kps is really slow.

I suggest you call and find out...there's no way to know just how high of a bandwidth you should be getting if you don't know what you're capped at.

Should be 1500/256, unless you got their DSL Lite, which is 256/128. Sounds like you might have the Lite version.

yep, I've got DSL lite, and those are what my speeds are...
I usually get around 30K when I'm downloading programs or music or whatever...

If you break it down, you get 37.5K of bandwidth for every $10.

1500K/$40 = 37.5K/$10

You're not even getting $10 worth.
