MatrixmaN is on a distinguished road

After repeatedly playing the Alpha like an addicted crack addict I've come to realize that I'll be awaiting DooM III more than HL2. Those who havn't played the Alpha I pity your souls.

Just for the mere fact that Doom 3 seems more immersive. HL2 has graphics, atmosphere, multiplayer and physics but Doom 3 has graphics, atmosphere, immersiveness, and depth. I've seen all the demos and I AM getting them both no doubt, but if I had to choose one to look forward to it'd be D3.

The main thing I'm looking Forward to in HL2 is just going around seeing how many different ways I can blow things up, throw things around and find as many sadistic uses for the gravity gun as possible. DooM III on the other hand is going to totally suck me in. Multi for D3 is just a side order to go with the main course, unlike the other way around. I look forward to D3's artistry and atmosphere more, scripted sequences, eerie atmosphere and depth. It just seems more like playing a horror movie than playing a Shooter....

D3 is going to rock.

IMO, good game, probably a little light on the story line. I like games that can be modded and do good multiplayer, so HL2 won me.

Oui MatrixmaN, that thing is going to be so freaky. I remember being an 8 year old sitting at my parents PC late at night when they were gone with the lights out. I was in a corner of some Doom level and I heard the footsteps. They had chased me into this corner but had gotten stuck or something. I was just freaked out though, now amagine that times the power of 9800 Gonna have me some fun!

I do have to say I'm more looking foraward to what HL2 has to offer though I'm almost to scared to play it because I'm afraid it'll suck somehow. How could they live up to the first?

O well Doom3 is a sure thing. Carmack is so obsessive he would never let it suck!

BTW I've played the alpha, runs so smooth on my pc Can't wait for the real thing!

I have that grey screen with the 40.xx drivers. Try using an older driver (30.82 works on mine)

Hell yeah dude,

I already get 30fps in the alpha.....and 15fps when taking full resolution FRAPS movies so I know it's gonna run like a wet dream. I built my rig to run that game almost personally (as well as any other game including hl2). Besides that the game is only supposed to run at like 30FPS since it's supposed to be movie quality, not quake 3 quality. 30FPS is fine with me.....that game is gorgeous....and it's the alpha for petes sake....
