Capturing digital cable

I thought I read a while back that ATI was developing an interface between digital cable boxes and all-in-wonders, or maybe next gen AIWs.

Anyone know where I can get more info on that? Searching ATI only leads to lots of linkd to their set top boxes.

Doesn't digital cable still come down coax? If so, AIW's have F-connectors on them, you could just pipe it in through the TV-tuner part and record to your HDD?

I should have been more specific. I thought ATI was releasing a way for the Computer to serve as a programmable DVR with access to channel control for Digital Cable?
