Promise PAM - Noob needs help

I got Promise PAM software with my ASUS mother board. How the heck do you get it running? Boot it up and it looks nothing like the manual. What to do? Computer seems to be running fine. POST and Windows XP says the array is up and running. Win XP thinks it is a SCSI device.

ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe
2.4P4 processor with 800Mhz FSB
2 Maxtor 80Gig IDE Hard Drives in a RAID 1 array

Thanks.

I have made some progress on my problem. Turns out I didn't have all the software loaded. Needed the part that recognizes the array on a local machine. Still don't have it all figured out. The help file leaves something to be desired.
