I'm having a problem with my ATi Radeon 9500. My computer keeps on hanging after a few minutes. The only thing I can do is to do a hard restart. Then when WinXP boots up, a dialog comes up that my radeon 9500 drivers caused the error.
I uninstalled the display drivers and used driver cleaner and then installed the drivers again. But I still get the error and my computer hangs after a few minutes or playing a game.
Have you tried installing the latest Catalyst (3.7) drivers?
I find it odd that it works for a while and then restarts and claims it's a driver problem. Are you doing anything specific when it crashes? Or if you just let the computer sit there doing nothing, will it still lock up? Are you sure the fan on the card is spinning? Perhaps the card is overheating.
Yeah the fan was spinning and I had another 80mm fan blow air right on it. I RMA'ed the card just in case. But I think that my power supply was dying and was not giving enough power to the card.
I did install the newest Cat drivers. It happens when I do nothing on the computer or when I do anything from surf to playing games.
