Unless you have experience, you will be in for a tough time getting employment with just a MCSE.

Well actually you DO GET your MCSA on the way to getting the mcse.

In other words the MCSA is 4 tests and the MCSE is 7 I think....so you just look and make sure the 4 for mcsa are 4 that are required for mcse.

That way ON THE WAY to mcse you get your MCSA and then you take 3 more tests and get the full mcse.

Of course when you pass any ONE of those tests you are a MCP, lol.

MCSA is 4 of the 7 tests of mcse.

In other words there is really no decision as the whether or not to get mcsa before mcse because you get it on the way to mcse anyway! lol.

These certs don't command the recognition they once did, and would be very foolish to go for "just because".

Ok, and so what good will the MCSA/MCSE be to you in the meantime? I just find this really strange..why do you NEED to get certified? You do realize that between now and 7yrs time, you will have to constantly update your certification. If you want a better alternative and are specifically targeting networking, then look at Network+ by CompTIA.

No problem..just wondering

Just don't go down the road of braindumps. You learn little, and degrade the certifications even more than they are now.

Best of luck in your quest. If you really want to learn, setup a home lab and get an eval copy of Win 2003 Server, and get a copy of Mastering Windows Server 2003 by Mark Minasi.

It'll cost you almost $1000.00 USD to get the books and complete the exams. And that's if you don't flunk anything. Microsoft recommends at least 5 years network engineering experience in the field before taking the tests. I'd say aim for the MCP and for the MCSE later in life. And remember, a MCSE doesn't do you any good unless you have someone to pay for you it. i.e: a job.
