Kids Reliability Questions

I admit that I'm cheap, so I tend to rely on freeware/shareware.
I thought I'd ask if you know how reliable such programs as H+BEDV Antivir v.6 and Tiny Personal Firewall, in fact, are.
Comparisons to F-Secure etc.?

P.S. Any anti-spyware program you could recommend? (It has to be free )

I put quite a bit of faith into Sygate's Personal Firewall but I've never used Tiny or F-Secure so I have nothing to compare to there. Here's a link for Sygate:

http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm

It's free for personal use so it meets your price criteria.

I'd also suggest AVG antivirus, I've never heard of that one (not to mention you're relying on your machine to be guarded by a version .6! BETA!

I've heard Tiny is pretty good, but like Scott I rely on Sygates personal firewall (the free version)

Thanks for your replies!
Both AVG and Sygates p.FW seem at least more reasonable than my previous programs...
Still, any opinions on anti-spyware, such as Webroot ?

Send a message via Yahoo to muno
Didn't kerio buy tiny off and tiny isn't distributed anymore?

It was pretty good firewall - which I don't use because I couldn't get their connection sharing program to function...

I also use sygate, along with their homenetwork.
