Ghost MultiCast help.
Ok I need to make a new image to send out. I dont know how to make the image though. I have 8 gig I need to send out to all the computers. To make the GHO file would I make the disks and copy them to the hdd? I dont have a second partition to ghost to so what should I do? I just need to make the image as soon as posible.

Sounds like you need another HD in your ghost server

Word.
You're not going to be able to image the drive w/o having another partition or drive to image to. You could try a CD-R or CD-RW, but I've never been able to get that to work.
When you use Ghost MultiCast, you're basically "broadcasting" the .gho file to all machines that are allowed to login. It's just like if you imaged drive-to-drive, except you're going across a network.

The guy who set this up before I came into the picture was doing it with one HDD and one Partition. He has two other images on the HDD. I need to be able to cast by the end of the week...

I use multicast at work almost on a weekly basis. 8 GB? Is that the size of your ghost image? I am not following your first post. What do you mean by "To make the GHO file would I make the disks and copy them to the hdd? I dont have a second partition to ghost to so what should I do?" I am guessing you only have two computers? One as the machine you want to make the ghost image from and one that you want to put the ghost image on? Or are you just using ghost as a means to backup a machine.
Using multicast is simple. First take a computer and get it setup exactly the way you want it. Once you are sure its good to go boot that computer off a floppy disk that has drivers for your network card. (At this point I am assuming you know how to make a network boot disk for Ghost) Then setup the ghost server to receive a "Dump From Client." Once the dump is complete boot your other computers off the same floppy disk and setup your server to "Load To Clients." Once it is done your other computers will be a mirror of the first computer. For my ghost server I use my work laptop so I have a go between for my image machine and my receiving machines.

To save an image of a computer's physical disk, the computer must have a second physical disk or other suitable media for saving the image file, such as a Jaz disk, Zip disk, or access to a drive on another computer. Image files can also be saved to CD-ROM, but only by saving them elsewhere first, then moving the files to the CD-ROM.
If you have a single hard drive with multiple partitions, you can create a partition image instead of a disk image and save it on another partition on the same physical hard drive.
