Systems Motherboard Not Booting Up

Hi I just bought this MoBo model#pm10-el . Dfi is the maker of mobo. Supports Pentium4 processor. I installed 1 stick of sdram, intel celeron 2.4ghz, connected power supply. The red light (led2) on mobo comes on. i hear two beeps. the fan dont come on and there is no boot up. plzzzzzz help. What im i doin wrong

Does the manual show what the lit LED means?

- You might need to try reseating the RAM and/or CPU.

- Disconnect the power cord and clear the CMOS settings. Be sure to go into the BIOS and "Load Setup Defaults" if it boots.

It doesnt boot up so i cant get into the bios. but i will try reating. what bout the fan

Don't worry about the BIOS until you reseat the RAM/CPU.

Which fan are you talking about? The CPU's fan, the PSU fan, the case fan(s)?

thats the psu fan. also do i hav to put the heat sink on cpu to test

Check the power supply plug to the mobo. It has a snap hook, and needs to be firmly seated. There is also a four pin connector just below the 20 pin on on most mobos, the four pin powers the cpu/ram.

Also, the fan should be plugged into the CPU FAN pins on the mobo. It the system doesn't detect a cpu fan, could cause it to shut down.

Do you have the wire thats coming from the on/off button on the front of the case connected to the proper pins on the motherboard?

Also make sure that the little switch on the back of the power supply is set to the right voltage for where ever your at....

did you try an initial boot without the heatsink in place?
