Ive been following his story since it broke last week and have been trying to figure out where the $300,000 figure comes from for supposed lexisnexis searches.
He supposedly made roughly 3000 lexisnexis searches
A search costs between 3 and 12 $
Even assuming every one was the most expensive 12$ search 3000 of them only comes to 36,000$
But here's the real kicker. Those fees only apply to the pay as you go program, he was using the NYT account that he had created while inside. The subscription based pricing structure is different and so far as I can tell you have unlimited searches for subscription based accounts. The total amount that the NYT would have had to pay for the service altogether not just counting the percentage that Adrian was using, wouldnt equal 300k$ for the period of time that he was supposedly accessing their service.
Just wondered if anyone else had any insite into this.
Here's a link to the lexisnexis pricing structure
