Kids OCing A 9600?

I am attempting to overclock my ATI 9600. I have tried using both "Rage 3D Tweak" and "PowerStrip". They both let me change the speeds. However, after I go and use a program and then check the settings again they are back at the defaults!
Does this mean that the Vvdeo card is locked? I have never OCed a video card before so I'm not sur eof what else the problem could be...

I would suggest that you try radclocker. It installs as a tab in the ATI control panel. Make sure that you uninstall the other 2 o/c programs first so that they do not conflict with each other.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have given that a shot, however it seems to be the same as the other 2 that I tried earlier. I change the core speed push ok, comeback and it's still OCed. Comeback after using a program and it's back to it regular core speed. I have even restarted it right after changing the core and the OC is still there, untill I use a program! Very strange I would have to say.
