cmd problem

Hi,
I have this problem at the moment whereby, everytime i open up IE6, or Outlook, or even a pic or anything else, i get all of these cmd.exe's in taskmanager. Also my system has been running slower since this started, and when i try to open up a jpg it wont open.

Any idea's, i have tried NAV after updating but to no avail.

Thanks Daniel...

Well there seems to be a thread here about it or similar http://www.computing.net/windows2003...forum/309.html

Which has these links to viruses, maybe you have one of these

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ven...tzet.worm.html

http://securityresponse.symantec.com...gaobot.aa.html

Do you have a 'weak" password and/or user name...such as "user" and "admin" or something like that?

Maybe go to www.antivirus.com and do the free scan.

of course it would help to know what OS it is. And if you dont have all the latest patches from microsoft..shame on you.

If you go to www.symantec.com and do a search for "cmd.exe" you will see that a lot of backdoor type trojans could be running different commands which would show up as what you are experiencing.

go here http://search.symantec.com/custom/us/query.html and search for cmd.exe
