Print Sharing
I Have a Starband Modem connected through a USB port into a Windows ME machine running winproxy. I have a PCI ethernet card (cross over cable) out of this Machine into A Microsoft MN500 wireless router. My laptop is running windows XP (home) with a wireless PCMCI ethernet card to the router.
I am able to add my shared canon f50 printer (or any printer) (on the ME machine) to my XP machine. when I select "start"->"settings"->"printer and Faxes" on the XP machine It shows me the status of the printer (paused/ready), and this status changes when I change it on the gateway machine(ME machine).
If I try to print using this printer, the program I am atempting to print from will hand for a while, and the I get a message that there is a problem with the printer. At this point the status of the printer will change to "unable to locate network printer (this will go away after a few minutes).
Does anyone have any ideas? I can give you IP addresses if this will help, but I wonder if it may be either a problem between ME and XP.
