Voltages Question

Hi there,

Can someone tell me if the voltage readings reflect any sign of the PSU problem for my Celeron 2.6 system? The system experiences random freezes when running the cpu at stock speed. I suspect a PSU problem as my system runs fine at lower clock speeds (2.2ghz).

This is what i read in the bios:

CPU CORE 1.47V
+1.8 1.82V
+3.3 3.31V
+5.0 5.08V
-12 12.28V
Standby3.3 3.39V
Standby 5.0 5.10V
Voltage Battery 3.21V

Looks fine to me . Try bigger heatsink and fan on the CPU first. Sounds like that's where your heating problem lies.

If you're overclocking, first I would check the temps as said above. You may also have a component that can't handle the overclocking. If you're not overclocking, and you're cooling is adequate, I vote you get another PSU. The problem you're having resembles the very issues I have had with el cheapo power supply units, including, but not limited to, Allied, Macron, and Deer.

I recommend an Antec, true series, or HEC. Those two are my PSU's of choice. They're a tad more expensive, but I've had components fried thanks to crappy PSU's, not to mention the headache of troubleshooting those problems.

It's possible it's something else, though I would go with the PSU first.
