Kids Setting Memory Bios

I am a novice to computing and have just built my 1st PC. I am having trouble with the memory or so I have been told. When I switch on my PC it comes on for 2 seconds switches off and then starts to boot with this message on the screen. "DRAM TIMING TOO TIGHTLY SO RELOAD TIMING." Telling me to press any key to proceed. . My memory is an Elixir 512mb DDR 400Mhz PC3200. How do I set the BIOS on my Motherboard which is a MSI 875P NEO for PC to operate properly?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin.

Well, getting into the BIOS is probably with either the "DEL" key or the "F4" key after the drives have shown up in the POST and just before the BEEP.

I would reset the BIOS back to defaults. There is an option for that in your BIOS, I am sure. That would be a quick and easy way to fix the problem.

I have tried what you advised. I tried default Bios and high performance but I am stiil no further forward. Any idea what the ram timing should be configured to?

Yes I fixed the problem eventually, messing about with the bios clock speeds.

I change the ram to Geil Golden Dragon Dual Channel 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200. I overclocked the 2.4 533 fsb prescott to 3.0 & getting 3700 on on ram. Did have a conflict between my video card and the motherboard, changed to an 875 chipset ASUS and cured it. I recommend the ram change if you are trying to overclock. Going to put MSI in kids PC.
