Welcome to techimo
to be honest, i always stay up on the definitions for norton and the 2 or 3 virus's ive gotten through kazza (lite) have been detected and i was able to remove them.
just gotta be careful. have auto protect running as well if you use norton. just my .02

Most AV software has active/resident scanning... E.g. any file that is accessed will be scanned before opening...

well thats the way it should work anyways...
