Asus P4S800 No Power Problem

I'm putting together a new system but am not getting any power when I turn it on. The specs are listed below. The small green light is coming on when the power is connected, but nothing happens when I push the power switch on the case. The cpu and psu fans do not come on.

I tried a different psu in the system that is a 350 watt and the cpu fan would spin for a few seconds when the power cord is connected to the back of the psu. However, nothing happened when I tried to turn it on.

I took the board out of the case and tried it that way with no luck. I'm not getting any sounds at all from it when I try to turn it on.

I tried the psu in a AMD XP2400 machine and it was ok. Same for the memory. I used the xp machine to format the hard drive too.

If you have any suggestions, that would be great. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Crucial PC3200 512 MB
Seagate 120 GB, 7200 RPM

Sorry that no one was able to tell me anything about it.

I sent it back. The thing that bums me out is that I always cheapened up on my other systems. I never had the bucks to really build the one I wanted and always had to compromise on something. This time I spent a little more on the board and cpu only to find that I had to return something.

make sure the memory is of ddr400 type
