nforce2 board: Dual memory channel?????

Ok, so with the nforce2 board there are 3 dimms. Well which two do I use for the dual channel option?

There are two dimms on the left close together, then there is one dimm on the right. (i'm using the abit nf7-m)

I'm using one and three, I believe you can also use two and three, just not one and two.

I'm 95% certain it needs to be one chip in one of the first two slots and another chip in the third slot. Like I said, not one and two.

Yup. Slots 1 and 3 , or 2 and 3 work for dual channel on the NF7-S. I have mine in 2 and 3.

Your slots should be seperated, the 3rd from the rest, to show you the different channel.

Send a message via ICQ to JohnE.
For Dual Channel it must be 1+3, 2+3 or 1+2+3 and they must be balanced. DIMM's 1+2 are channel one and DIMM3 is channel 2. For example: DIMM1/256MB + DIMM3/256MB, DIMM2/256MB + DIMM3/256MB or DIMM1/256MB + DIMM2/256MB + DIMM3/512MB.

JohnE. brings up a good point in that all three slots can be populated while running in dual channel.
