Super Urgent: Screwed up dial up on w2k.
Well

its me again... stupid noob

I was trying to get a network going yesterday between my old comp and my new comp. I needed to transfer some files over...

well after installing some clients... i tried to get onto the internet... it gave me an IPX error 733... and it said the PPP was different or something like that. Now when w2k boots up, i get this "preparing for network" and it takes so much longer to load... can i disable it?

my real problem is getting onto the internet. I went and i selected IPX/IP only under the protocols...

when i deselect some protocols, it connects, but it wont respond

Im on a school comp now...

please give me some help by monday

The only protocal you need is TCP/IP. You should have Networks for Microsoft Networks as the client. Is this a Microsoft Network you are connected to?

yes

so i deselect everything else and justl eave ttcp ip and microsoft networks?

And the only other thing listed on my pc is File and printer sharing for Microsoft networks.

So get rid of everything else except those 3 things.
