Need Info: SiSM650 Graphics

-----
CPU: Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz CPU, 400 MHz FSB
mPGA 478 Package with Socket-478

Display: 15.0" active matrix color TFT LCD monitor panel
15.0" XGA 256K hi-color (6 bit interface)
Dual Channel LVDS I/F
SiSM650 integrated graphics core
------

It's a laptop I recently purchased. It was VERY vague on the graphics part. I don't know how much memory the graphics card has (4mb, 8mb, 16mb, 32mb, 64mb) or anything else up there....256k hi-color 6bit? Does that mean there's no 32 bit color on my desktop and isnt 6bit from like back in the day of monochrome and windows 3.1?

Please somebody, inform me as to the specifics of what I bought. I still want to at least be able to play Jedi Knight 2 of Quake 3 on this thing in my free time.

Thanks.

The graphics is a shared-memory unit. Assign up to 64 MBytes of your system RAM to it (in BIOS, usually).
6-bit interface on the LCD means you got 6-bit per primary color, 18 total. The graphics engine can still be run on 24-bit color (there is no actual 32-bit mode anywhere!), but the LCD panel will show only 18.
