Aw hell, I can't really say too much without cussing. The pictures are worth a million words .

Beware, not for dialup users!

What do y'all think?

You're right about Texas (pony express)!

That is where I'm from and after you check out my pic and you will think yours was in perfect shape.

Well you took a very bad chance to ship a HEAVY copper heatsink that uses a SINGLE clip attachement. I for one never ship a computer with the heatsink attached that uses just a single mount point. You can see in your close up of the CPU that the middle attachment broke. While you have packing peanuts and such to help protect against crushing and such you have to remember that there was NOTHING supporting a heavy heatsink that is basically suspended in mid air in 3 out of 4 basic positions.

Unfortunately you have learned a expensive lesson in shipping with poorly attached heatsinks...

the lesson here I would think would be to ship with the case on its side instead of the way it sits during normal operation, that way the heatsink isn't dangling by a couple of plastic tabs.

Either way, that's BS and FedEx had better cough up for the rough treatment of the case..it couldn't have been more clearly marked that it was fragile too...bummer.

Agreed mntsnow, would it of damage anything to fill the inside with peanuts?

I'm betting those peanuts would have a great deal of static in them so I don't think you'd ever want to put them inside a computer. Removing the heatsink completely and packing itoutside the inner box would have been the safest bet.

Sorry to hear about your loss Tazman.

instead of needing to remove it, you should use one that mounts to the motherboard like the slk-900u (and the new 947)
