invitation suggestions

hey, here is an invitation to a private party at a club in London, someone else designed it and I made it, but i think it looks a bit tacky and not very proffessional (it is for a porffessional event). There is our logo under the Hot guestlists with... but it didnt come out for some reason. What do you think? and suggestions on what I should do, or any budding flyer/invite designers out there?

Are you looking just for criticism? For someone to make a new one?

Mainly looking for criticism, I am not very good at designing things and i'm new to corel photopaint so finding it even harder. We're trying to keep it simple and proffessional, think i failed on both. If anyone has free time and feels like having a go that would be really good, but i'm just asking for advice to make it look better...

Well I am a fan of lines. So text that lines up with the edge of shapes, borders, things like that.

ie.. No3 Club should IMO be moved up a tad bit so the top of the letters are even with the top of the box. Also on the right side Dress: Should be aligned into the center of the circle and not the edge.


The three different size fonts in a row (present, mian squeze, for...) look bad to me as well. Maybe two sizes. One for top and bottom, one for the middle. Are you going for a squeezed look to that word?

Take all of this with a grain of salt. I know nothing about design, I only know what I think looks good

Thanks a lot for the crit, I am going to have another go at designing it taking your suggestions on board. Maybe try downloading photoshop and doing it on that instead. Any other things I should do?

You have 4 shapes. two small circles. One big one, and the rectangle.

IMO, I think the centers small circles and the one large circle should make a straight line on the diagnol of the card.

Possibly you could also incorporate the center of the retangle. (I would try to do this)

Right now they look a little out of sync.

Also align the text at the bottoms so that the center of the letters are at the center of the circle on the right.

ok, here is a, IMO, much better version of the invite. I took your advice. What do you think? This one made in Photoshop, which by the way, thanks to everyone for recommending!
