Neither, thus I will not vote. 3DLabs is my top preference, though I am not a gamer. Matrox follows a close second, then I can start sorting through ATI and nVidia based upon exact models.

Of the two you have listed, I would have to say nVidia from an overall perspective. I have closely worked with nVidia drivers and firmware over the years, thus I feel more comfortable with nVidia architectures.

Ask professionals working with OpenGL applications, they will quickly refer you to nVidia over ATI. ATI has done wonders with its DirectX development efforts, but its OpenGL implementation still leaves much to be desired IMHO.

ATI for delivering more power for less money. And as far as reliability etc. goes, I always had heaps of trouble with Geforce cards.. So ATI in the mind of an outsider.

Definetely ATi although I am currently using a Nvidia card, I really think the Radeon video cards are the best out there compared to the Nvidia cards. They offer incredible quality at a reasonable price and the drivers are actually much better now compared to before. Just out of curiosity, why this thread again?

Im a gamer as well as a consumer so I pick ATI at the moment. I do have 2 PCs at home one has an Nvidia card the other has an ATI card, I would also rate Matrox way up there.

Well, I'm not much of a gamer but, I have always chosen ATI over nVidia except when it comes to motherboards. nForce2 rox!

Anyway, I am thinking about getting me a better one sometime soon. ATI of course...

Actually, ATI does make several motherboard chipsests for the Pentium IV architecture. The 9100 IGP is popular among notebook manufacturers.

IGP series chipsets are perfectly suitable for desktop motherboards as well. FIC and Saphhire offer micro-ATX boards sporting IGP chipsets.
