Radeon 8500 dual monitor resolution problem

I have a Radeon 8500 and two monitor setup with Windows XP. I have one 19" CRT plugged in to the analogue port, and one 15" LCD in the Digital port with the analogue adaptor. The 19" CRT is set as the primary screen running at 1600x1200 where as the 15" LCD is the secondary monitor configured to 1024x768.

This works just fine expect that every time I start my PC the 19" CRT (primary monitor) defaults to 1024x768 meaning that I have to reset my screen resolution every time I log on! Very frustrating!!!

Does anyone know why this is and if it can be fixed? Why won't WinXP remember the screen resolutions?

Thanks in advance

~Stewart

I set mine individually my right clicking the walpaper/properties/

settings tab/click on the monitor you want to set, and click apply, then ok

But I have Nvidia software.. don't know if its the same..

You can drag and drop the monitors for the orientation you want, also

Welcome to TechIMO Stewart

I'm not sure if windows should be remembering the resolution or not.

If no one else has a solution/answer, you might want to try a small freeware program called MultiRes found on this page (and documentation on this page)
