I was looking on newegg.com and say XP Pro for Academic (Students/schools) for $81. Is this the same thing as WinXP Pro just you have to show proof of being a school/student?

I ordered the Academic version from Newegg on Tuesday, and FedEx delivered it today. It's the full-blown program. You can even do a new install with this product, if you don't want to just upgrade your current Windows version. I'm thinking about those choices right now.

If you did a whole new install with it would it delete your current programs?

Rand, I have everything backed up, and will format the drive, prior to making a new install. After that, I'll just reload all my applications. All my data resides on my D drive, which I'll just leave alone.
