Please Help

Hay all I just got this notebook and I get this error msg and my screen is all messed up"No ATI driver is installed, or ATI driver is not working properly" I have a Presario 2100. I tried restore the ATI drivers by doing a selective restore from the software setup to restore the display drivers. And this worked until I switched users then I had to do it for the next user. Now Iam back at the first user with the same issue? At least now I can get back to the settings tab in the display folder.Also now the the screen is bigger. But I get the same error. The color qulity is at "lowest" and when I change it it wont stay at the highest? And the screen resolution will not change from 640 by 480?"

it is in a real mess. Try have ur pc formatted and reinstall your OS again. You probably need disk drive for your display. You might as well send back your notebook to the shop where u bought it and ask for warranty.
Installing Win XP allows it to detect all drivers available on your notebook, without having disk drivers seperately like the old Win 98 days. Im just suggesting But it could help u out.

have you tried using the latest video drivers from compaq?

Thanks will try installing under admin. I have the latest drivers. This thing has been problamatic from day one which was last week first thing when I started it had a virus which I had to clean out. Will let you know if it works.
