Kids Reputation stat in Morrowind?

Now that I've got hold of a slightly better video card (replaced a GF2 MX400 with a GF2 Ti that I got dirt cheap) I've started playing Morrowind again after almost a year (last save game date was Nov 13, 2002). Frame rate went from sub-30's to around 60-70 FPS and the game is much smoother now. Can hardly wait till I can afford to replace the GF2 Ti with a GF4 Ti and put the GF2 Ti in my old K6-III+ 550 machine, which currently has the GF2 MX400

Anyhoo, I'm wondering... my level 41 Redguard Adventurer has a Reputation of 15 and no price on his head (at the moment anyways ). Is this good or bad? I'm assuming this is good and if so, how can I get a higher reputation? How does Reputation affect your interactions with NPC's and the game in general? Is it related to your Luck or Speechcraft somehow?

I thought it was just a stat showing how well known you are. So, by doing lots of quests it goes up, by being a high level, by having nice equipment(you know some npc's point out that you have nice stuff) Also, I think it goes up substantially when you are proclaimed the nevarine, and even steps along the way(with the tribes) 15 is pretty good I think, I'll check when I get home what mine are.

edit...p.s. one more thing on the graphics card. I updated from a gf4mx to a radeon 8500 and WOW! the game looks a ton better, smoother and the water looked amazingly better.

15 is decent depending on what part of the game you are in.
On my xbox character that has beat the game its around 65. Just a note, when you beat the main quest, for every "dreamer" that you save, you get +1 reputation.

Reputation does a few things for you, but nothing all that spectatular. Once you get around 30-40s people will kind of gauk at you and be very impressed when they meet you. Their disposistion will also tend to be higher the first time you talk to them.

Once you get really high, people become stunned to see you and go out of their way to help. But since most people cant help you all that much, like I said, it doesnt do a whole lot of good.

I dunno how far you are in the game. I started making a tutorial website for the game but then got kind of bored and havent updated it for awhile.

a bad video card can really screw up a game. I have a radeon 264 mb. Haha.
