Serial/ATA mobo question

Are Serial/ATA motherboards downward compatible so that you can you continue to use your existing ATA/100 hard drives on them?

I'm purchasing the Asus A7N8X Deluxe and will get a serial drive eventually (hopefully next month or two), but would like to use my existing ATA/100 drives for a bit.

Also, can I have one Serial/ATA and a 2nd ATA/100 drive coexist on the mobo?

Thanks!

Yes. They have both SATA and IDE connections so you can attach your IDE drives such as HDD's, CDRW's, DVD's, etc.

Yes, you can have both IDE and SATA drives connected at the same time with no problems.
