whats systray in win xp??

i am using the diagnostic tool that comes with win xp. it says to shut down all the programs except for systray and explorer. after ctrl/alt/del,i can find a explorer,but no systray. what is the equivilent of systray in win xp?

systray is embeded into explorer. I believe.

you guys are dealing with a technical deadbrain. i still am clueless to what i am supposed to do. so explorer is the only process i need to operate windows?? systray is within explorer?? please excuse my ignorance

GZ's link says it's a process that controls Windows power usuage settings.

What problem are you trying to diagnose? Perhaps we could be of more help to you if we knew that instead.
