URL masking or domain masking script

I need a URL masking or a domain masking script. Currently I have it so that when www.domainname.com is typed it is redirected to domian.tripod.com/index.html. Is there a script that will mask the domain name so that if www.domainname.com is typed then www.domainname.com is what appears on the web address bar instead of domain.tripod.com/index.html.

Someone's got to know of a script that can do this. I am in great need of this. PPLLLLEEEAAAASSSSEEEE anyone I'm begging. Thanks in advance.

Initially Apaches mod_rewrite came to mind ... but perhaps not what you are after.

Maybe a google(tm) for "URL cloaking" might be helpful.
